Fauna Marin Power Phos Phosphate Remover

Power Phos is a highly effective wet Iron-hydroxide based adsorber designed to safely and efficiently remove silicates and phosphates from both freshwater and saltwater aquariums. By binding these pollutants securely to its surface, Power Phos prevents their release back into the water, helping to maintain exceptionally low nutrient concentrations.

This reduction in nutrients inhibits unwanted algae growth, allowing your corals to display their natural, vibrant colors. For optimal results, it is recommended to place Power Phos between two layers of filter wool or use it within a fluidized-bed reactor to maximize adsorption efficiency. Begin dosing carefully with 100 ml per 300 L of aquarium water, increasing gradually to a maximum of 200 ml per 300 L after five days. Regularly monitor phosphate levels using reliable test kits to ensure effective phosphate removal and replace the material as needed when phosphate concentrations rise again.

Power Phos should not be used in tanks with already very low phosphate levels. Upon initial wetting, the material may warm slightly, and a temporary red coloration of the water may occur due to fine dust particles attached to the adsorber; this is harmless and will dissipate quickly. Do not rinse the adsorber before use to preserve its effectiveness. Safety precautions include keeping the product away from children, avoiding inhalation, ingestion, and contact with skin or eyes. This product is not intended for use with animals raised for food production.
